Footwear Wardrobe Essentials

Wearing the right footwear really does make a difference to your overall look. There is no point in spending ages selecting an outfit, then choosing to wear a pair of shoes that do not quite match.

Fortunately, to look good, you do not necessarily have to own that many pairs. There are certain styles of shoes, boots, and sandals that work with most outfits. These are what I like to call shoe wardrobe essentials. If you own these, in all likelihood, regardless of what you choose to wear you will have the footwear you need.

Classic pumps

Pumps, which are also known as, court shoes, are fantastic. They can just as easily be worn with a skirt as they can a pair of smart trousers. Right now, they are very much back in vogue. Retailers like www.jdwilliams.co.uk sell them in a huge range of width fittings, finishes, and colors.

Kitten heels

If you want a pair of shoes that are practical as well as elegant kitten heels are exactly what you are looking for. They are just high enough to shape your calves, but not so high that walking in them becomes difficult.

Evening heels

Every woman should own a pair of classy shoes that they can wear for a special evening out. Exactly which type you choose is up to you, but generally speaking a pair of strappy evening shoes in shiny gold or silver will do the trick. These should look good with virtually any style or color of the dress.

Ballerina flats

Even lower, and more comfortable are ballerina flats. They are stylish and feminine enough to wear with a dress or skirt, but also work when worn with jeans. A nice soft pair, in a neutral tone, is ideal for slipping into your handbag on days where there is a chance you will have to walk a long way. A lot of women wear this style of shoe for their commute and swap them for high-heels when they arrive at work.

Classic loafers

If you are not a fan of the Ballerina shoe, think about substituting them for a pair of loafers. Right now, with the 80s fashion revival going on, it is really easy to pick up a stylish pair. They are quite a posh looking shoe, yet they still look surprisingly good when worn with casual jeans.

Ankle boots

Ankle boots look great and offer plenty of support. Again, you can wear them practically anywhere. The exact style you choose is up to you. But, if you mainly wear trousers usually a classic Chelsea or Cuban boot is the way to go.

If you want to wear them with a skirt or dress you need a finer looking pair. Chelsea ankle boots can work, but usually, you need a pair with a stiletto heel to really pull this look off.
